What is a Zero-Backlash Trapezoidal Nut?
When designing screw drives for CNC devices and 3D printers, manufacturers pay special attention to eliminating the “dead zone” effect that occurs when changing the direction of movement. This effect arises due to the backlash in the thread between the screw and the nut, which is caused by manufacturing tolerances and wear over time. Zero-backlash nuts are used to eliminate this dead zone.
Zero-backlash nuts with trapezoidal threads consist of two threaded elements with a spring installed between them. The spring dampens movement, thereby reducing the errors associated with rotary-linear motions.
Our range includes zero-backlash nuts for TR series trapezoidal screws and more, suitable for screws with diameters starting from 8 mm.
We offer trapezoidal zero-backlash nuts made from the following materials:
- Brass: A material known for its high resistance to corrosion.
- Caprolon: A high-strength, odorless polymer material that is impact-resistant and resistant to wear, as well as to mineral acids and alkalis.
- Stainless Steel: An alloyed steel that is resistant to corrosion in both atmospheric and aggressive environments, exhibiting thermal resistance properties.
