Trapezoidal thread profile
To ensure maximum rigidity and precision in the movement of working components, trapezoidal screws come in both single-start and multi-start designs. Two important parameters to consider when selecting a trapezoidal screw are:
- Thread pitch: the distance in millimeters between two adjacent thread turns (denoted by "P" in the diagram).
- Lead: the distance the nut moves in one complete turn of the screw.
Pay close attention to these two parameters. If you choose a single-start screw, the lead is equal to the thread pitch. However, if you need a multi-start trapezoidal screw, the lead is equal to the product of the thread pitch and the number of starts
This section of the online store features a single-start trapezoidal screw with a thread pitch of 4 mm and a diameter of 8 mm. The trapezoidal screw is available in the most commonly used sizes: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, and 1000 mm.
This type of thread is quite popular in engineering and small-scale machine building. The screws are used as drive elements because the trapezoidal thread profile allows them to withstand maximum deformation loads while ensuring a long service life without wear.
The trapezoidal screw with a 4 mm pitch is made from high-alloy carbon steel, providing the screw with high strength and wear resistance. The primary purpose of the trapezoidal screw is to convert the rotary motion from a stepper motor into linear motion through a "screw-nut" system. This mechanism has excellent technical performance, making it suitable for lifting and feeding mechanisms in lathes, boring machines, milling machines, screw-cutting machines, and other wood and metalworking machines.
